Another munchkin from the Land of Oz has decided to stick his impotent nose into American politics. The Prime Minister of Australia, John Howard, has taken direct aim at a political candidate in an American election and voiced a strong and loudmouthed opinion heard worldwide. “A victory by Senator Obama at next year's US election would be a win for terrorists.” Be warned: Mr. Howard and the rest of the world should stay far away from taking sides in an American Presidential Election.
Internal politics are just that; internal. Every nation has the right to its own self determination. While everybody is entitled to an opinion thereon, those nations who surround themselves in glass houses should not throwing stones or threats. Consider how back in the American Civil War, when brother fought brother to the bitter end; as a Nation we would have forgotten our differences and united in common cause had some outside nation sought to intervene. Imagine France or Spain or England landing on our shores and demanding we end our war and behave according to their set of imposed standards.
For a Nation such as Australia whose only contribution to the world is a smirk and the shrimp-on-the-barbie, perhaps they should reconsider their position. Ironic is it not that a nation such as Australia demands American blood continue to run rivers in Iraq and an American pull out would be a gift to Al Qaeda – yet at the same time, only two Australians have lost their lives in Iraq. Perhaps if Australia would do some of the heavy lifting, they too might be reconsidering their position of trying to separate sides in a civil war. They certainly are not willing to risk their own but demand Americans continue to die.
John Howard and the rest of Australia; I have a message for you. Upon the election of the next President, Australia is off the ‘A’ list. When China or North Korean missiles take aim at your heartland, go ask India or Tazmania for troops and political power to keep you safe. Since Australia has declared itself a nuclear free zone, then perhaps they should get out from under the West’s nuclear shield. New Zealand will surely pick up the slack.
It is appalling that those who sacrifice the least have the loudest mouths. Prime Minister Howard should get his Diggers out of their hiding places in Iraq and make them walk a beat in Baghdad. Perhaps if a few thousand Ozzies absorbed some IED shrapnel intended for Americans, their attitude might change. Let the Australian taxpayer find a TRILLION dollars to spend on furthering their foreign policy in Iraq.
Ultimately it is folks like Mr. Howard and Mr. Bush and even Mr. Blair who have given the greatest comfort and aid to our enemies. Their policies these past six years, have bolstered the forces and nations who align against America. We have created generations of people who will risk their own lives to slaughter ours. This ‘war’ that Bush, Howard, Blair … and don’t forget Poland … has given the biggest win to our enemies.
Never ever should a foreign nation or leader be granted leave to involve themselves in our internal debates. We are not patsies or dupes and will not be manipulated to advance the political agenda of crazies around the world … above or below the equator.
